GOG teams up with indie powerhouses for Loco Motive’s summer debut

March 25th, 2024 – This announcement is unlike any other: we’re extremely happy to share the news on the partnership of GOG, developers from Robust Games and publisher Chucklefish, to unveil our support on the highly anticipated point-and-click comedy adventure, Loco Motive. Coming this Summer in English and German, it is available to wishlist now on our platform!

This strategic partnership, with the objective of bringing the game to life, is a significant milestone in the pursuit of mutual growth. For GOG, the financial support of Loco Motive’s creation is not only a new territory to explore, but also another way of supporting the mission of making games last forever.

We believe in game preservation – in every form. Where there is passion and love for gaming, we want to go there! Be it bringing back classic titles, making them playable, reviving unlisted gems… Or supporting the creation of new indie games, such as Robust Games’ Loco Motive

Brothers Adam and Joseph skipped past the usual sibling rivalry and founded the studio in early 2021, with Loco Motive as their debut title. The game began as an ambitious game jam project inspired by the point-and-click games they loved as kids, now setting the bar high for the genre.

As a small independent studio, we were thrilled to forge this partnership with GOG. We deeply value and appreciate the trust GOG place in us as their first investment into indies, and I'm confident that with their collaboration and support we will reach new heights of success.

Loco Motive

On the eve of a landmark speech by the wealthy heiress Lady Unterwald, a straight-laced lawyer, a crime novelist-turned rookie detective, and an undercover spy find themselves embroiled in a murder, a mystery, and worst of all… an adventure! Now stuck onboard a luxurious steam train, within stabbing distance of a cold-blooded killer, the race is on to prove their innocence once and for all.

Along the way, players will meet a fully voiced cast of eccentric and memorable characters, solve satisfyingly head-scratching puzzles, and piece together the facts to prove their innocence. Figure out who committed the crime and what motivated them to murder!

It’s a tough time for both game development and publishing at the moment, so it’s never been more important to push for independent creativity. We’re thrilled to be collaborating with the lovely people at GOG for their first investment into indies, and are excited for the future.
